About Minden Baptist Church in Mt Enterprise TX, East Texas

We are a Southern Baptist Church where the Bible is preached and the gospel of Jesus Christ is central. Dress is typically casual but respectful (most of the men wear jeans and polos or dress shirts). We meet on Sunday mornings for worship at 10:00 am and Sunday School at 11:15 am (a nursery is available for both worship and Sunday school) and on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. On the first Sunday of each month we have a fellowship meal immediately after the morning service which gives us the opportunity to spend unhurried time together and to get to know our guests better. Visitors are always welcome at all our services and meals.

Pastor, Dr. Matt Pitts

Matt Pitts was called to be the pastor of Minden Baptist Church in 2009. He and his wife Sarah were married in 2005 and have four children. Matt received his Doctor of Ministry degree in Biblical Theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 2018 and his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 2008. He also teaches Bible at Full Armor Christian Academy in nearby Henderson and serves as an adjunct professor for Jacksonville College and California Baptist University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Systematic Theology through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Worship Leader, Travis Orr

Travis Joe Orr, a native of Henderson, Texas, attended Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana where he studied voice under Dr. Horace English, choral conducting under Dr. Julia Brasher Thorn, and Sacred music under Dr. Will K. Andress. He considers it a joy and an honor to serve the Lord as Worship leader for Minden Baptist Church, the church he was born into. Travis was saved and baptized at First Baptist Church in Henderson at a young age. He has been blessed with a beautiful family, beginning with his marriage to Olivia (Ward) Orr in October 2016 and has three children, Silas, Hudson, and Avery. Mr. Orr is also a partner/owner and funeral director for Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson where he has assisted nearly 3300 families over the last 14 years, and he currently serves as the Vice-President of the Henderson I.S.D. Board of Trustees.

Worship Leader and Pianist, Bonnie Estes

Bonnie Estes has served as pianist at Minden Baptist Church since the fall of 2018. She came to fill in temporarily and decided to stay when she and her husband Greg fell in love with the preaching, the people, and the fellowship of MBC. Bonnie and Greg have lived in east Texas since 2000. Bonnie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas. She is an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) with a practice in nearby Henderson. As a singer/songwriter, she released a collection of original songs in 2015 entitled “Fork in the Road” (available on iTunes, eBay and Amazon). In her role as worship leader, she is committed to “music as praise” and “praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a community of believers”. Bonnie loves sharing how Christ redeemed her and collecting stories of what He has done in the lives of His followers. You are welcome to sit on the piano bench with her during prelude or postlude music while she is playing and share what He is doing for you!
